Let’s continue with the autumnal theme shall we?  Ok!  I appreciate your overwhelmingly supportive response.  So Brussels sprouts do not have the most favorable reputation but when we add everyone’s favorite breakfast meat, this perfect fall veggie can become a very tasty treat.  This is a quick side dish and really only requires bacon (1/4lb, cut in 1 inch pieces) and Brussels sprouts (1lb, stems and wilted leaves removed, cut in half).  Using a wok or a large saute pan, cook the bacon over medium heat for about 10 minutes.  As it is starting to get crispy, add the Brussels sprouts and turn the heat to high.  Stir/toss everything for about 5 minutes, moving things around pretty regularly, until the sprouts are tender.  Add some white wine vinegar (a tbsp or more if you like the flavor), salt and pepper and serve.

Do you need to steam or cook the brussel sprouts at all first to get them softer, or will they cook in the 5 minutes?

No pre-cooking required Court! Just taste them after 5 minutes and if they aren’t cooked enough for your taste, let them cook for another few minutes.
